A Flat Earth?

Messianic Apologetics editor J.K. McKee discusses the social media phenomenon all over Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and hundreds of memes supporting the idea that Planet Earth is a flat disk. While affirming the verifiable scientific position of Planet Earth as a round sphere, that there would be anyone within the broad Messianic movement or independent Hebrew/Hebraic Roots movement adhering to a Flat Earth–serves as evidence that our understanding of the various positions on Genesis 1-11 is in need of some help. There is a greater diversity of views within our faith community on Genesis 1-11 than many leaders and teachers are willing to admit or recognize.

  1. Thanks for this excellent analysis, John. I would have been far less charitable than you were in this video.

And you’re right that we in the Messianic movement simply have not adequately addressed issues surrounding the intersection of our faith and scientific consensus.

While these issues aren’t salvific — nor anything to break fellowship over — they *are* issues of credibility. Our message about God and Messiah are less credible and needlessly diminished when it’s coming from people militantly fixated on silly claims of a flat earth.

  2. Dear John,
Despite flat earth prespective .Consider the validity of levicalpriesthood
from Sinai to John the Baptist and what we see as the kingdom. today.I do
have an exstensive background. Consider the Malchezidech priesthood. Is there
an Hubble telescope? Sincerely Charles r Wilder od
